The ways through

Single path. No combat, no alternate routes — this quest is pure pacing and tutorial, establishing movement, looting and resting before anything is asked of the player.

Dialogue

No spoken dialogue — Kade is alone with the dead. One optional internal line when the keepsake is first picked up, cuttable if the hero stays fully silent:

Kade (quiet, to himself) — "...Not you too."

Everything else here is environmental: crows, smoke, the creak of the tipped wagon. No barks needed with no one left alive to bark.

Rewards
  • Sword, wood shield
  • 2 healing potions
  • The wreck's bonfire (1st travel point)
  • The keepsake (quest item, finale-locked)
  • 50 XP (`game-design-doc.md`, OPEN 1 reward line)
  • Kill XP: none — this quest has no enemies.
Notes for the build
  • Tipped, charred wagon as the wake-up point; crows and smoke dressing.
  • Three loot crates: sword + shield, 2 potions (combined per the doc's crate count).
  • Hask's body, with the keepsake as a distinct, readable prop — it's examined once more at the finale, so it needs a clear silhouette now.
  • Camp bonfire, lit state after interaction.
  • A visible drag-mark trail leading east out of the wreck toward the gorge road, readable without a minimap.
